This was rejected by the Royal Ulster Academy 2019 but was welcomed by the seahorse gallery belfast as part of the pride celebrations in July. 
 belfast art galleries are fearful of isolating themselves from core funding and rarely challenge the establishment controlled largely by fundamentalists. It's easier to bury your head and not take on any battles after all it's only art and if we ignore it might just disappear.

Another rejected submission to 2020 royal ulster society 
Rumour implied it was too explicit after being shortlisted for exhibition it was rejected. 
This picture represents for me the need to keep trying, never give up keep going unfortunately for icarus his time in the sun flying high was short lived before crashing to his death. 
Arts funding in northern ireland is very uptight and galleries and curators fear funding cuts  from our government bodies which tend to be right wing and disapproving .
